On Friday 5 June between 7-8.30pm, join Rainbow Hamlets and local MP Rushanara Ali for an inspirational and fun start to the weekend. Counter Albion, 45 Redchurch St in the heart of Shoreditch, is opening specially.
It is almost 18 months since we transformed ourselves into a professional agency. Come along to hear us report back and have your say in our future direction.
Rainbow Hamlets are hosting two Big Conversation events to enable as many people as possible to get involved. The other one is in Limehouse on 10 June. Both have been funded by the Clinical Commissioning Group (the group representing all the GPs in Tower Hamlets). They have asked us to find our what LGBT people think about how well we are involved in making decisions about services, and what they could do better. We will be writing a report based on your feedback so they can improve how they involve LGBT people.
Diversity and community relations will definitely be on the agenda. Tonight we welcome the recently re-elected Member of Parliament. Rushanara was the first Muslim woman MP. She has a strong track record on LGBT issues – voting in favour of gay marriage. Recently she announced her candidature as Deputy Leader of the Labour Party.
